If you are looking for good authentic food and live western music in the Hollywood Hills, a visit to the Viva Fresh Mexican Restaurant is definitely in order. Feel free to kick back with the locals in this ranch-house style restaurant that is referred to as the watering hole by the regulars.

The Viva Fresh is Located at 900 Riverside Drive in Burbank, California. Parking has never been a problem here. They have plenty of room for automobiles as well as a hitching post if you decide to come on horseback. On Friday nights you will find plenty of horses and cowboys here from the sunset dinner ride offered by the Sunset Ranch in the Beachwood Canyon community.

The laid-back western atmosphere, topped off with authentic Mexican food make this restaurant a good place for family fun and dining. Of course, if you want to just come with friends for a good time and drinks, you are welcome to saddle up to the bar at the Cantina. The employees won’t even mind if you’ve had a few to many margaritas, just as long as you don’t fall off of your horse on the way home.

The dress is casual, and no reservation is required, so come as you are and enjoy the food and fun. With every drink ordered, you will receive a napkin that has trivia printed on it. You’ll probably answer the first trivia napkin better than the ones that follow, but that is all part of the fun.

The Viva Fresh Mexican Restaurant is proud of their sincere service even though they will tell you that it can be sporadic. You may have to physically grab a waiter to get a refill but it is definitely worth the wait. When your food arrives it would be wise to go ahead and order dessert and a drink refill so that you will have it when you are ready.

The Viva Fresh Mexican Restaurant features live music nightly. Tuesdays are the Big Open Mic Night hosted by Big Mike, “the biggest Mike of all.” He welcomes anyone to step on up and show off your skills. On any given night, new bands can be found showcasing their talent. Many of these bands are so well liked that they become regular features at the Viva Fresh Mexican Restaurant. Some of the current bands playing are The Brombies, with their bluegrass, and Cody Bryant, who plays a variety of music from Irish country to well known Mexican tunes.

If you are visiting the Los Angeles area, and are looking for a restaurant with fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced food, be sure to make the drive to Burbank’s Equestrian Rancho District for a meal that will be enjoyed by all.
